What is the Derma Roller System?

The derma roller (also known as a microneedle roller or a skin roller) is a revolutionary hand-held device which has the ability to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin to promote healthier skin cells in the body. Using 200 extremely fine medical-grade needles, the dermaroller painlessly creates microchannels in your skin which trigger the body's natural healing process to create new, healthier tissue to replace the imperfections of older skin. Understanding Our Skin

The concept of skin renewal can be described simply as wound and heal. The youthful glow on a baby's skin is the result of constant skin renewal, which is the shedding of old skin cells continually being replenished by new ones. As we enter our teen years and beyond, skin renewal starts to slow. Research has shown that when people reach their 40's and 50's, skin only sheds approximately once every fifty-three days. When we try to resurface the skin, we are targeting treatment within the epidermis (top layer of skin). The derma rollers' fine needles create small micro-channels in the skin leaving the epidermal barrier fully intact, treating only areas in the mid-dermis.
